We’re looking for hands-on help with one of the most important tasks in animal rescue - cleaning and sanitizing kennels.

What’s involved:

• Disassembling kennels

• Thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing all parts

• Drying and properly putting kennels away for future use

This role is perfect for someone who doesn’t mind physical work and takes pride in doing a job right. Keeping our kennels clean helps prevent illness and ensures a safe space for every animal that comes into our care.

Flexible timing – come when it works for you! We’ll have all equipment and supplies set out and ready.

Responsibilities include:

• Tracking incoming merch orders

This role helps bring in much-needed funds to support animals in care - and gets our name out into the community at the same time!

This is a flexible, from-home position with occasional drop-offs or pick-ups.

Volunteer Drivers Needed!

Grateful Friends Animal Rescue is looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to join our amazing transport team!

As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll play a vital role in the rescue process by helping animals and supplies get where they need to go. Some of your tasks may include:

🐾 Driving animals to and from spay/neuter clinics to our partner clinic approximately 10 mins south of WPG.

🐾 Transporting animals from the airport to foster homes

🐾 Taking animals to and from adoption events

📦 Picking up and delivering supplies from donors or between supply homes and event locations

📍 Most driving is within/close to Winnipeg, with the occasional trip to Stonewall or partner communities for animal surrenders

Event & Fundraising Assistants

Love people, pets, and making a difference? Join Grateful Friends Animal Rescue as a volunteer Event/Fundraising Assistant!

We’re looking for friendly, outgoing folks to help out at in-person events and fundraisers. Tasks may include greeting guests, handling merchandise, chatting with potential adopters, and keeping things running smoothly!

✨ You’d be a great fit if you:

🐾 Enjoy working with animals and people

😊 Have strong customer service or interpersonal skills

📅 Are available Saturdays or Sundays (minimum 3-hour shifts)

✅ Can commit to helping out once a month

Events are fun, interactive, and a great way to meet like-minded animal lovers while supporting a paws-itively awesome cause!

Minimum 3-hour shifts

• Must be able to commit to 1 shift per week (Monday–Saturday)

Duties include:

• Cleaning and organizing

• Caring for cats in emergency holding

• Scooping litter and refreshing food/water

• Helping hand out pet food when needed

• And of course… giving plenty of cuddles

We are currently looking for a dedicated volunteer to help lead the process of obtaining charitable status.

We are hoping to find someone with previous knowledge or experience with charitable status applications and non-profit processes who is able to take initiative and work independently throughout the application process.

The ideal volunteer would be able to:

• Prepare and organize required paperwork and documents

• Complete as much of the process independently as possible

• Communicate with organizations or individuals for guidance when needed

• Keep our team updated and reach out when additional information or clarification is required

• Work in a timely and organized manner

Our team will provide all required information, answer questions, and assist wherever needed, but we are looking for someone who can truly take the lead on this project.

Obtaining charitable status would make an incredible impact on our rescue and the animals we help every day by allowing us to apply for grants, expand fundraising opportunities, and continue growing our lifesaving work.
